“Dreams come true; without that possibility nature would not incite us to have them”—John Updike
Those are some extremely powerful words. Dreams have always mystified me. We dream subconsciously, and have seemingly no control over what we dream; but really, what are dreams? Your dreams could be about something that has been nagging you all day; your dreams could be your deepest desires; or they could be your most intense fears. We as humans tend to dream a lot-we have wishes, we have desires, we have wants. Sometimes, though, you wake up wishing the dream you just had could come true, and the fact is, it can come true. If there is something you really and truly want, you can achieve it. You wouldn’t be able to imagine something that cannot be accomplished by you. Every wish, every desire is possible. Anything can come true if you put your mind to it. Any one of us can achieve anything at all. It’s our attitude and mind-frame which changes everything.
In my opinion, a hero is someone who beats all odds to achieve what is deemed impossible. A hero achieves his dreams, and we all have the potential to become heroes. There are no stupid dreams, because everyone has their own dreams, and everyone’s entitled to that. As we say goodbye to the people around us, as we move on with our lives, we have our dreams keeping us going. It’s our dreams and desires which keep us alive. If we don’t dream, we have nothing to work towards. We don’t have motivation. Have you ever thought about why it’s little children who are associated with dreams? It’s because they dare to open their minds and they don’t use the word “impossible”, because nothing’s impossible-if it was, we wouldn’t have even thought of it would we? The very fact that we came up with the dream means that it’s within our power to make it happen.
Don’t tell yourself something is “not possible”, because you’re the only one standing in your way. I risk sounding like a motivational greeting card, but: you can do it! There’s nothing you can’t accomplish.

(choice)
It’s the choices we make which ultimately decide who we are. Any two people with the same mindset could be changed by the decisions they make. Choices, decisions-we’re faced with them everyday. I, for one, can not even decide which flavour of ice cream to choose at Baskin Robbins.
How on earth do you decide what you want in life? How do you know which path to take? Where to go? Where to look? Life, to me, has a million branches, and is like a humongous tree. Which branch do you climb next? Wouldn’t it be easier if there was some formula, or some kind of way to get the answer you’re looking for? What I realised though, is that if something is meant to be, the path will be paved for you. Trust me, life will play with your mind, but in the end the decision you have to have to make will be crystal clear-it won’t be perfect-because perfect is just a fantasy-but it’ll be right. When you listen to yourself, everything will suddenly become clear. We all have the potential to answer our own problems, and to make our own decisions. All the answers are right there in that crazy organ we call our brain. We are only questioned those questions we can answer ourselves. So, as you stand there at the ice cream parlour-or be it at the bane of your future-just stop for a minute and think about what you know. You know the answer, you just need to see it. What I see, is German Chocolate Cake…;-)
