It is human nature to resent change. We put up walls of so-called ‘security’ around ourselves, refusing to accept change in any form-that’s when things go wrong.
I feel like I’ve been in a bubble for so long, that now that I see things changing, I feel like they are changing around me faster than they should. I want time to stop-but time’s going to keep changing, no matter how I feel about it. Right now, acceptance is the only way to go.
We get so used to the way things are, we forget to think about how things would be if they were to change, and when they eventually do, it hits us like a ton of bricks. If we lull ourselves into a false sense of security, we may never be able to handle change.
Just watching a pipe dripping in monotone can be so soothing, but how long can you keep watching the same pipe drip? The same sounds, the same sights, the same story-how long can you go through with that? Nothing lasts forever, and even in the case of the pipe, the water will run out sometime. All you can do, is stop for a moment and take a deep breath, and realise that you are not alone. Everyone’s afraid of change. All you have to do face it head on. At the end of it, you’ll realise just how strong you are, and that’s always a pleasant surprise.

(questions)
Life is full of unanswered questions. We ask why this is so, but really; would it be better if all of life’s questions were answered? Probably not; and furthermore, every time one question is answered, another one arises. There’s so much we don’t know as humans. We don’t realise what the universe holds. We don’t realise the power each and every one of us has. We don’t realise how this power can change things we deemed as impossible.
Take the first flight to the moon. Before spaceships were invented, going to the moon was as wild a dream as bending the space-time continuum; but what happened to make that dream come true was that someone somewhere dared to ask a question, and they set out to find an answer. It is in our human nature to face challenges, and if life didn’t have challenges, we wouldn’t be alive. Ironic as that sounds, it’s true. We wouldn’t have found food, water, shelter or any of those necessities.
I’m sure there will come a time in every human’s life, where one questions their existence. Why are we here? Do we even have a purpose? Who knows all the answers? The truth is, no one does, except whoever put us here. That’s where our beliefs come in. That’s where religion comes in. Everyone tries to put forth a different answer to these questions, and maybe that’s how religions started. I’m afraid there’s no one person who has all the answers-no one alive at the moment that is. Think of it this way, if someone knew all the answers, life would become monotonous and simply boring. There’d be no reason to be alive, no reason to discover anything. The human race would just die out…
As someone once said, “There are no stupid questions.”
Keep asking questions. Keep wondering. You never know, maybe it’ll be you who makes the next big discovery.

(dreams)
“Dreams come true; without that possibility nature would not incite us to have them”—John Updike
Those are some extremely powerful words. Dreams have always mystified me. We dream subconsciously, and have seemingly no control over what we dream; but really, what are dreams? Your dreams could be about something that has been nagging you all day; your dreams could be your deepest desires; or they could be your most intense fears. We as humans tend to dream a lot-we have wishes, we have desires, we have wants. Sometimes, though, you wake up wishing the dream you just had could come true, and the fact is, it can come true. If there is something you really and truly want, you can achieve it. You wouldn’t be able to imagine something that cannot be accomplished by you. Every wish, every desire is possible. Anything can come true if you put your mind to it. Any one of us can achieve anything at all. It’s our attitude and mind-frame which changes everything.
In my opinion, a hero is someone who beats all odds to achieve what is deemed impossible. A hero achieves his dreams, and we all have the potential to become heroes. There are no stupid dreams, because everyone has their own dreams, and everyone’s entitled to that. As we say goodbye to the people around us, as we move on with our lives, we have our dreams keeping us going. It’s our dreams and desires which keep us alive. If we don’t dream, we have nothing to work towards. We don’t have motivation. Have you ever thought about why it’s little children who are associated with dreams? It’s because they dare to open their minds and they don’t use the word “impossible”, because nothing’s impossible-if it was, we wouldn’t have even thought of it would we? The very fact that we came up with the dream means that it’s within our power to make it happen.
Don’t tell yourself something is “not possible”, because you’re the only one standing in your way. I risk sounding like a motivational greeting card, but: you can do it! There’s nothing you can’t accomplish.

(choice)
It’s the choices we make which ultimately decide who we are. Any two people with the same mindset could be changed by the decisions they make. Choices, decisions-we’re faced with them everyday. I, for one, can not even decide which flavour of ice cream to choose at Baskin Robbins.
How on earth do you decide what you want in life? How do you know which path to take? Where to go? Where to look? Life, to me, has a million branches, and is like a humongous tree. Which branch do you climb next? Wouldn’t it be easier if there was some formula, or some kind of way to get the answer you’re looking for? What I realised though, is that if something is meant to be, the path will be paved for you. Trust me, life will play with your mind, but in the end the decision you have to have to make will be crystal clear-it won’t be perfect-because perfect is just a fantasy-but it’ll be right. When you listen to yourself, everything will suddenly become clear. We all have the potential to answer our own problems, and to make our own decisions. All the answers are right there in that crazy organ we call our brain. We are only questioned those questions we can answer ourselves. So, as you stand there at the ice cream parlour-or be it at the bane of your future-just stop for a minute and think about what you know. You know the answer, you just need to see it. What I see, is German Chocolate Cake…;-)

(time)
It's nearly March, and I haven't written even half as much as I expected to. It's that laziness, that lack of self-discipline which I really wish I had more of. Alright, here I go again, being a total hypocrite. If I want to get things done, I shouldn't say "I wish", I should say "I will". You know, if we replaced half of the time we spend complaining with actually doing something, we'd be far better off, but instead we idly let hours slip by.
Time-that's another startling phenomenon. One second you're a child, and then before you know it you're in an adult world, surrounded by people who're too busy to even throw you a small word of kindness. It seems we are perpetually busy. It's a crazy cycle-as we get older, the time on our hands falls right through our fingers. People have less time for each other. We don't appreciate the little things done for us. We easily slip into anger, and shut oursleves away from the world, thinking we're doing ourselves a favour, when the only ones we're hurting are ourselves. Time leaves us empty, broken, dumbfounded and totally, utterly lost.
Go on, do something good, do something now. Before you realise it, before you wake up, it'll be far too late.

(silver lining)
You’ve heard it before-every cloud has a silver lining. How much more do you have to hear it? It’s the motto of all optimists-look at the bright side. Sure, it’s easy to say it, but how simple is it to scrounge around and hit that lining of silver? For all the optimists out there-you must be thinking why I’m writing this? You may argue, that it’s easy to just look at the negative side and that I should stop making this world such a negative place. Bear with me, you’ve read this far, it’s just a little farther until the end.
Suicide. You drive off for miles, run away from all your problems-you’re not a coward, good heavens no, you’re only searching for greener pastures. You leave it all behind you-leave the ‘stronger’ people to bear with all that. You’re not selfish at all, you’re only going to take a break from life-and never return. You stretch your arms out wide, and feel the cool breeze on your face, and jump. Towards betterment? Sure, that’s what you’ve been telling yourself thus far-keep it up. And there you go-the last sounds you hear before you leave it all behind you are the sound of the wind pushing past your ears. Then, death.
To all the pessimists: keep up the good work-hope you see why you are not a coward at all, and I hope the sarcasm cut deep, ‘cause that’s what it was meant to be. You’ve lost all of my respect if you’re planning to commit suicide-but hey, since you’re dying, my respect means nothing to you does it? Neither, of course, does the respect of anyone else on this planet.
To all the optimists: the very fact that you’re still reading this proves my point-you’re convinced I am not a horrible person ;-)
And let’s not forget the realists: Keep it real! \m/
And to all the rest of you: there is a silver lining, you can see it just as the sun rises after all the darkness.

(illusion)
Is it all just fake, I wonder? I mean, think about it...how many different personalities does one person have? One has to put on a different face for different occasions. We don't care, as long as someone looks happy and puts on a smile...it's all OK for us. But what if that person's only faking a smile? Do we even care to look into their eyes, bother to ask what is wrong?
That brings me to another point. Is the whole world an illusion? Money? Happiness? Love? How are we to know if any of these are really what matter? In the end, the money will be gone. Happiness? What is happiness? Is happiness that point when you're satisfied? Satisfaction's not real either. We can be satisfied with anything really-but the more we have the less we are satisfied. That doesn't make us happy. So what is happiness? Just another illusion?
